Designing Changing Places for Public Spaces

About this CPD:

This CPD provides an overview of what Changing Places are and their importance to people with disabilities across the UK, the latest regulations and building regulations that need to be considered and the specialist equipment that is required for a facility to be compliant.

It will also cover a review of the design and planning process, considerations needed for different venues, tips for creating a business case and assessing the option of installing a modular Changing Places facility. Example layouts and case studies of projects that Innova have completed will also be discussed, accompanied by a Q&As session towards the end of the event.

Applicable For: Primarily aimed at architects and contractors but also applicable to NHS trusts, local authorities, procurement managers and surveyors.

Duration: One hour in total, including 45 minutes for presentation, 15 mins for Q&A.

It will also provide advice on what you need to consider during the design process, building a business case for a hydrotherapy pool installation and how stainless steel can enhance infection control.

Applicable For: Primarily aimed at architects and contractors but also applicable to occupational therapists and teachers in SEN Schools.

This CPD provides a guide on justification for hydrotherapy at home, looking at what is required for a claim and the different options available for hydrotherapy facilities.

It will also provide advice on what you need to consider during the design process, how hydrotherapy pools can be considered as part of a litigation case and how stainless steel can enhance infection control.

Applicable For: Primarily aimed at occupational therapists, solicitors and case managers, as well as architects working on home adaptations.

Duration: One hour in total, including 45 minutes for presentation, 15 mins for Q&A.

About this CPD:

This CPD provides an overview of the understanding of the different types of patient hoisting systems, types of track layout, room coverage configurations depending upon the environment, and the installation and bearing requirements that need to be considered. It will also cover a review of the benefits that a patient hoisting system can offer as well as an insight into the largest hoist installation currently happening at Midland Metropolitan Hospital and some of the latest innovations that have been developed to overcome some of the real-life challenges.

Applicable For: Primarily aimed at architects and contractors but also applicable to NHS trusts, private healthcare, education establishments, hospices & care/nursing homes managers.
