Learn How to ‘Design Changing Places for Public Spaces’: New InnovaLive CPD

Posted on 10 December 2020 in Changing Places

We are back with another InnovaLive training event, now available to book for free! This time, we’re turning our focus to Changing Places. Introducing the ‘Designing Changing Places for Public Places’ CPD…

Following the success of our previous InnovaLive sessions, a Changing Places CPD seemed like the perfect addition to our training library. Not only have we been involved with the Changing Places campaign since 2010, but revisions to UK building regulations mean these facilities are set to become necessary for hundreds of new build projects.

Warwick Oliver, our Changing Places Consultant, is going to be delivering these training sessions with interesting and up-to-date information for 2021.

When is the CPD session?

Due to the uncertain times for everyone, there is not a fixed date. You can attend a training session whenever it suits you!

The CPD can be carried out virtually (via Zoom) or in-person (when safe to do so).

Just book online to arrange a free session for you and your team.

Who is this training for?

Anyone who wants to learn more about Changing Places is welcome.  However, this CPD is tailored to architects and contractor.

If you’re responsible for planning, construction, or compliance on public building new builds or major refurbishments, then this one is for you!

Warwick will be focusing on the specialist equipment required for certification, example room layouts and case studies, and — of course – the new legislation and building regulations coming in from 1st January 2021.

What will I learn?

There will be a lot of practical information to glean from the training session. Plus, you’ll learn some key stats, figures, and exclusive insights relating to Changing Places.

We can tailor the session to your needs if there is a specific topic you want to cover.

For example, if you’re working on the design and build of leisure centres or supermarkets, we can go into more detail on the considerations needed in those venues.

However, the CPD will cover:

  • History of the Changing Places Campaign
  • Tools for design and planning
  • Tips for creating a business case
  • Considerations for different venues

Plus…

  • Real-time Q&As

Ahead of the training sessions, Warwick has explained why Changing Places are such an important topic.

“Changing Places are becoming increasingly popular due to the fact that from next year onwards, it is a legal requirement for Changing Places to be included in public new builds and refurbishments.

Architects need to be planning to include them in their projects now.  Not only is being inclusive the right thing to do, but it also brings benefit back to the client, regarding the purple pound and great public relations.

I am looking forward to sharing our tips and projects”
