Design And Install Of Complete Hoisting Solution For Children’s Hospice
Martin House Children's Hospice, a beacon of hope and care for children with life-limiting conditions, embarked on an ambitious project to expand their facilities.
The Challenge
The new children’s wing at Martin House was envisioned as a sanctuary of comfort, dignity, and accessibility. A key priority was ensuring safe and efficient mobility for children with complex needs, while also supporting caregivers in delivering high-quality, hands-on care. The hospice identified the need to integrate ceiling hoists throughout the facility to enable safe movement, reduce physical strain on staff, and enhance the overall care environment without compromising on warmth or aesthetics.
Approach
Innova Care Concepts was selected for their specialist expertise in healthcare environments and their commitment to delivering innovative, reliable solutions. Working in close partnership with Martin House from the earliest planning stages, Innova adopted a collaborative approach to fully understand the hospice’s operational needs, spatial constraints, and care priorities. This ensured that every decision was aligned with both clinical functionality and the creation of a welcoming, child-focused environment.

Results
The introduction of ceiling hoists has had a significant positive impact on both care delivery and operational efficiency at Martin House. Caregivers are now better equipped to provide safe, dignified, and more personalised support to children, while reducing physical strain and risk. The improved functionality of the space has enhanced day-to-day experiences for both residents and staff. Overall, the project has set a new benchmark for accessible design within care environments, demonstrating how thoughtful planning and expert implementation can transform healthcare settings.
