Whether you opt for a one-piece, Panel Premium or Panel Liner hydrotherapy pool, there are various accessories and optional extras you can choose to help the pool better suit your needs.
All the popular options below can be included in the design of your pool from the start:
Pool Covers
Every hydrotherapy pool needs a pool cover to reduce heat loss and evaporation. This helps to save on heating costs. Covers can also act as safety barriers when the pool is not in use. Some covers can even be connected to control systems to automatically switch the pool plant into standby!
Venturi Jets
We recommend every hydrotherapy pool should have venturi jets. It is a jet of air and water, typically positioned every 2m along the walls of the pool. These can be turned on or off to create a movement in the water which stimulates the muscles and can also be used as a resistance factor for clients undergoing physiotherapy.
Perimeter Handrails
These are generally installed as standard in hydrotherapy pools as they provide support for both care staff and the clients whilst in the pool.
Underwater Lights
Highly recommended because they help provide a calming atmosphere for clients. These can either be single colour or colour changing.
Seating Areas
Often used as an area for resting, sitting therapy work, or where hydrotherapy pools are rented out for mother and baby sessions. These can be an ideal area to introduce the babies to the water.
Counter Current Systems
Primarily designed for users to swim against but should be carefully considered to assess whether the client is able to use them. Some counter currents are adjustable and can therefore be used for resistance training.
Massage Beds
These can be incorporated into the pool structure and provide an area for users to lie down with massage jets around them.
Water Cannons & Waterfalls
These are used for massage effect and localised stimulation.
