We’re pleased to announce the launch of our free online training service – InnovaLive!
After running in-person CPD (continuing professional development) sessions for the past seven years, the team decided it was about time we made our training sessions accessible online.
Unfortunately, many conferences, networking events, and other training opportunities are cancelled for the foreseeable future. To set up InnovaLive, we’ve taken everything that’s great about attending a seminar and brought it online. So, you can continue your professional development wherever you are.

What is InnovaLive?
InnovaLive is live online training delivered by specialists from the Innova Care Concepts team.
The training takes place via Zoom and follows the format of a CPD session. You can ask questions at any time – the sessions are designed to be interactive and practical!
We will share case studies, videos, component samples, design samples, best practices and more. Everything is tailored to the specific training topic.
Each CPD runs for 1-hour and focuses on a different aspect of designing, specifying, building, maintaining, or improving care environments.
Which subjects do you cover?
We currently offer three InnovaLive CPD courses:
- Incorporating patient hoists and hydrotherapy pools into healthcare environments – with Bob Oliver, our Hoist & Hydrotherapy Pool Specialist.
- Creating Design-Led Care Environments – with Joe Hulbert, Fraser Tennent, and/or Almanzo Hulbert, our Long-Term & Hospice Care Consultants
- Designing Changing Places for Public Spaces – with Warwick Oliver, our Changing Places Consultant.

Why have we launched a training service?
As we mentioned previously, training is something we’ve done for years. We’ve been running CPD sessions since 2013 and we’ve always provided full user training for all our equipment.
Launching InnovaLive allows us to offer training to even more people! Bob summed up the decision when talking about his first upcoming virtual CPD:
“It doesn’t matter how many projects you’ve worked on, there’s always more to learn. Every user group and setting has its own specific requirements.
Sharing these experiences and best practices across the industry helps everyone to create better care environments. That’s why we started offering CPD in the first place. Who are these online training sessions for?
Each of our training sessions is designed is to support different professionals.
For example, the first InnovaLive course we launched – Incorporating patient hoists and hydrotherapy pools into healthcare environments – is aimed at architects and contractors. Although, the sessions may be of interest to anyone involved in patient hoist or hydrotherapy pool projects. Bob focuses on structural and design considerations. The goal is to help professionals involved in building or refurbishing healthcare facilities to incorporate this equipment safely and efficiently.
However, since our initial launch, we’ve released training sessions for interior designers, care home operators, and venue owners. We even ran an exclusive InnovaLive webinar, in partnership with Permobil, to help occupational therapists understand how power wheelchairs can help their clients’ reach their goals.
Plus, we’ve still got further plans for virtual CPD sessions on a range of other subjects! We have the skills and experience in-house to deliver online training for:
